Talofa!!! Samoa, South Pacific On Site DTS is a Kona DTS, which is being led in Western Samoa by Kona DTS leaders.

The Samoa On Site South Pacific DTS will be held from June 15 to November 15 in Apia, Western Samoa! (Please make note of the slight date difference from the Kona summer session.)
Samoa is a beautiful South Pacific paradise, known as the PEARL, or the HEART of Polynesia. We believe strongly that Samoa holds significant keys to revival in the Pacific and on into Asia! Samoa is a peaceful, developing nation in which a person generally makes only about $5,200 per year. Much of the economy is still in the form of trading and bartering for goods and services.
Some describe Samoa as being much the way Hawaii was nearly 100 years ago. During lecture phase we will have extensive training on water technology, health care, and sustainable agriculture. With these skills we can bless the nations, not only with the heart of Jesus, but also with his hands and feet as we assist in community development.
Our living conditions will be rustic yet comfortable. We will be growing much of our food at the YWAM property in the jungle. Your classroom and your sleeping arrangements will be in traditional Samoan Palm roofed Fales! (Samoan houses. Yes we do have running water and flush toilets but your beds will likely be in the open air under the roof of the fales. (Don't worry, Samoa is NOT cold!!!! We will be inviting some of the world's best instructors to lead us in this journey of discovering the heart of God and your destiny in life!

THE CHALLENGE
Caution!! This DTS will not be for the faint of heart. Living conditions will be a new experience for most westerners. Yet if we are willing to allow God to strip us of many of the comforts and ultimate idols in our lives and if you desire to meet Him in fresh and new ways. Come join us for this grand adventure in Polynesia this summer!
FIELD ASSIGNMENT
Outreach will take place primarily in the South Pacific. Serving those in need and sharing the gospel to those who have not heard. Locations will likely include, Tonga, Fiji Islands, Tahiti, American Samoa, Tokelau, and New Zealand, Or where ever else the Lord may direct!
During the eight weeks of outreach you may find yourself teaching English, running a basic health medical clinic, building water catchment tanks, preaching in a church or school, or perhaps sharing your testimony with a drug addict or university student
COURSE DATES AND FEES
The school will run for 20 weeks, starting June 15, 2013 and concluding November 15, 2013. Fees for the 12 week lecture phase will be $2,950USD (room, board and tuition). There are significant fee reductions available to students from developing economies. Fees for the 8-week outreach/field assignment, including flight, food and housing will be between $1,900USD and $2,900USD.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Emilio, I am a Spanish boy and I live in a town near to Madrid. I am a very interested person in knowing things so different as the culture, the way of life of the inhabitants of our planet, the fauna, the flora, and the landscapes of all the countries of the world etc. in summary, I am a person that enjoys traveling, learning and respecting people's diversity from all over the world.
I would love to travel and meet in person all the aspects above mentioned, but unfortunately as this is very expensive and my purchasing power is quite small, so I devised a way to travel with the imagination in every corner of our planet. A few years ago I started a collection of used stamps because trough them, you can see pictures about fauna, flora, monuments, landscapes etc. from all the countries. As every day is more and more difficult to get stamps, some years ago I started a new collection in order to get traditional letters addressed to me in which my goal was to get at least 1 letter from each country in the world. This modest goal is feasible to reach in the most part of countries, but unfortunately, it is impossible to achieve in other various territories for several reasons, either because they are very small countries with very few population, either because they are countries at war, either because they are countries with extreme poverty or because for whatever reason the postal system is not functioning properly.
For all this, I would ask you one small favor:
Would you be so kind as to send me a letter by traditional mail from Samoa? I understand perfectly that you think that your blog is not the appropriate place to ask this, and even, is very probably that you ignore my letter, but I would call your attention to the difficulty involved in getting a letter from that country, and also I don’t know anyone neither where to write in Samoa in order to increase my collection. a letter for me is like a little souvenir, like if I have had visited that territory with my imagination and at same time, the arrival of the letters from a country is a sign of peace and normality and an original way to promote a country in the world.
